RU authority forms special cell to support students facing legal harassment

The Rajshahi University authority has formed a special “Support Cell” comprised of two assistant proctors today (1 August), to provide aid to those students who have been facing harassment, detention and arrests by police due to taking part in the recent quota reform protests.
The information was made public through a press release issued by the university authority today, which says, “We’ve come to know that the law enforcers have been taking stringent steps against students who had participated in the quota reform protests. That’s why we’ve formed a Support Cell today, to provide aid to those students in need of help.”
“If any student faces legal hurdles from police, we’re asking them to contact Assistant Proctors Md Zakir Hossain and Prof Ratan Kumar. The university administration will provide full support in this regard,” the release added.
The RU authority have halted all types of academic activities until further notice. Besides, residential halls of the university have also been shut down.
