Mainul Islam replaces Al Mamun as new IGP

Md Mainul Islam has been appointed as the new inspector general of police (IGP).

The Home Ministry’s Deputy Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman Sheikh on Tuesday issued a notification in this regard as per the president’s order.

Earlier, he served as the commandant of Traffic and Driving School (TDS) Dhaka.

Mainul replaces Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun as his contractual appointment as the IGP has been cancelled, according to a separate notification issued by the ministry the same day.
