Bangladesh High Performance (HP) settled for second place in the Top End T20 Series following a 32-run defeat to the Adelaide Strikers in the final at DXC Arena, Darwin, on Sunday.

Set a target of 170 runs, Bangladesh struggled with their batting and fell short, being dismissed for 137 runs in 19.5 overs. Tanzid Hasan Tamim top-scored with 35, and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby contributed 21, but their efforts were not enough to chase down the target.

Adelaide Strikers’ bowlers were instrumental in the victory, with Jordan Buckingham, Liam Scott, Tim Oakley, Noah McFadyen, and Lloyd Pope each claiming two wickets.

Earlier, Tom O’Connell’s 33-ball 53 and valuable contributions from Ryan King (35) and Liam (30) helped the Strikers set a total of 169-7. Pacer Ripon Mondol, who ended the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with 15 scalps, took two wickets in the final.

Bangladesh HP secured their place in the final by defeating Northern Territory by 21 runs in the second semifinal. The Adelaide Strikers Academy advanced to the final after a 30-run victory over Pakistan Shaheens in the first semifinal.
