Exiled journalist Shafik Rehman returns to Dhaka
After a long exile, senior journalist Shafik Rehman returned to Dhaka today on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan Milton also returned with him.
Shafik Rehman, who had left the country in 2018 after facing persecution from the then Awami League government, returned home after six years. His wife, Taleya Rehman, accompanied him.
Meanwhile, BNP leader Milton returned to the country after nine years.
Earlier, DB Inspector Fazlur Rahman filed a case at Paltan Police Station on 3 August 2015, accusing Shafik Rehman and Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan Milton of plotting to abduct and kill Sheikh Hasina’s son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
