Barishal University proctor resigns | The Business Standard
Dr Md Abdul Kaiyum, an associate professor in the Department of Marketing, has resigned from his position as proctor of Barishal University.
He stepped down today (20 August) in response to student demands.
Confirming the matter, Dr. Md. Abdul Kaiyum said, “The students wanted me to resign, and in accordance with their demands, I have voluntarily stepped down.”
Earlier on Monday (19 August), a section of protesting students gave a 24-hour ultimatum demanding the resignation of Barishal University vice-chancellor professor Dr. Badruddoza Bhuiyan and Proctor Dr Abdul Kaiyum.
The day before, both the Vice-Chancellor and the proctor had issued apologies to all students.
