Former deputy sports minister Arif Khan Joy arrested

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested former deputy sports minister Arif Khan Joy in connection with a murder case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station.
He was arrested from Dhanmondi area of the capital yesterday night, the DMP said in a statement.
Arif Khan Joy was elected as a member of parliament for the Netrokona-2 constituency in 2014.
The former professional footballer served as the deputy minister for the Ministry of Youth and Sports from 2014 to 2018.
