China will not interfere in Bangladesh’s internal affairs, said Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen.
He made this remark after a meeting with BNP officials at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan today (21 August).
The meeting was attended by BNP’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, and Abdul Moyeen Khan.
After the meeting, the Chinese ambassador expressed that the discussion with BNP was fruitful and that the cooperation would continue.
He reassured that China would not intervene in Bangladesh’s internal matters and expressed hope for stability and continued development of Bangladesh.
He supported the interim government and hoped that the situation would normalise soon.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam said that BNP was delighted to meet with the ambassador after a long time and appreciated China’s ongoing commitment to the people of Bangladesh.
“China will stand by Bangladesh in the geopolitical scenario. The Chinese ambassador extended his best wishes to Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman,” he added
