Captain (retired) AB Tajul Islam, former state minister for liberation war affairs, has been detained from the capital’s Gulshan area.
A Detective Branch official confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
He also served as a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Brahmanbaria-6 constituency during 2009–2024 and 1996–2001.
In 2014, then liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Haq in parliament said his ministry would take action against five high-ranking government officials after examining the Anti-Corruption Commission’s probe report regarding their fake freedom fighter certificates.
