Shakil Ahmed, the former head of news of Ekattor television, his wife Farzana Rupa, a former reporter and news presenter of the channel, and their daughter were detained by immigration authorities.
They were later handed over to the detective branch (DB) of police, a DB official confirmed.
The family intended to travel to Paris via Istanbul on the Turkish Airlines flight TK-713.
However, they were denied permission to leave the country by immigration police due to a lack of clearance from the Special Branch (SB) of police.
