Hasina, 32 others sued in Pirojpur over disappearance of BNP leader for 11 years

Ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 32 others have been accused in Pirojpur in a case filed over the disappearance of a BNP leader for 11 years.
Babul Howlader, father of the missing person Sunny Howlader, filed the case in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court on Sunday (25 August).
Judge Helal Uddin took cognizance of the case and directed the officer-in-charge of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station to accept the matter as a first information report (FIR), said Abul Kalam Akon, lawyer who filed the case.
Twelve people have been named in the case while 20 were unnamed.
According to the plaintiff, the incident took place on 10 January 2013, when 14-15 people wearing Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) uniform and 5-6 plainclothesmen entered Sunny’s house, blindfolded him and took him into a microbus. RAB officials denied his arrest. Sunny has been missing since.
The others accused in the case include former shipping minister Shajahan Khan, former director general of RAB Mokhlesur Rahman, and several Awami League men, among others.
