A writ petition has been filed with the High Court, seeking an order for the government to reform the secondary education system.
Supreme Court Lawyer Kamrul Hasan filed the writ petition as a public interest litigation, asking the court to establish an inquiry committee to determine those responsible for creating a “wrong” curriculum and to suspend the existing education curriculum starting in 2025.
Education Secretary of the education ministry, NCTB chairman, director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) and secretary of the Primary and Mass Education have been made defendants in this writ.
The petitioner said that the writ may be heard in the High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Muhammad Mahbub Ul Islam.

On 18 August, Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud said he does not think it is possible to implement the new curriculum. It is expected that the government may soon announce the suspension of the new education curriculum.
