Dani Olmo marked his Barcelona debut with a decisive goal in a 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano at Vallecas in La Liga. Despite falling behind early to a well-placed finish from Unai López, second-half strikes from Pedri and Olmo turned the game around, helping Hansi Flick’s side maintain their perfect start to the season with three wins from three matches.

Barcelona struggled in the first half, unable to break down the resilient hosts. Unai López gave Vallecano an early lead, and Barca’s frustrations continued when Robert Lewandowski missed an open goal, and Olmo’s powerful 35-yard effort struck the crossbar.

The breakthrough finally came when Raphinha found Pedri unmarked in the box, and the young midfielder calmly slotted the ball past Dani Cardenas to level the score. A potential Lewandowski goal was disallowed by VAR due to a foul by Jules Kounde in the build-up, but Barcelona’s persistence paid off. Dani Olmo, coming off the bench, sealed the win with a beautifully curled shot to cap his dream debut.

With this victory, Barcelona climbed to the top of the La Liga table, putting early pressure on defending champions Real Madrid.
