Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned all kind of meetings, rallies, processions and protests near the chief justice’s official residence, judges’ complex, Supreme Court main gate and road adjacent to Matsya Bhaban from Friday (30 August).
DMP Commissioner Mainul Hasan issued a public notice under DMP Ordinance’s Section 29 to this end today (29 August).
The ban will stay in effect till further notice.
Earlier on 26 August, the DMP banned all protest programmes, gatherings, mass processions, and meetings around the chief adviser’s residence Jamuna and the Bangladesh Secretariat for an indefinite period. The notice comes shortly after a clash took place between protesting Bangladesh Ansar members and students on that night.
