Bangladesh free from autocracy but not extortion: Liberal Democratic Party
Bangladesh is now free from autocracy but not from extortion, Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed, chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has alleged.
“The primary goal is to create a clean and corruption-free Bangladesh. The freedom we achieved is meaningless if people cannot obtain justice in the courts,” Oli told journalists today (31 August) after a meeting with the Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.
“Elections should not be held under any circumstances before reforms are implemented,” he added.
He also urged all political parties to prioritise the nation’s interests over personal ambitions.
Oli Ahmed further said, “LDP had submitted 83 recommendations, none of which were motivated by political gain or personal advantage.”
The LDP chairman emphasised removing all anti-religious stories from textbooks.
