Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed to ensure the security of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
The deployment was carried out in light of the recent attack on doctors at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) at BGB headquarters this morning (4 September).
Doctors across the country earlier called for a “complete shutdown” demanding justice for those involved in assaulting doctors and vandalising the emergency department of DMCH.
Following this, the doctors at CMCH, the only specialised hospital in Chittagong, went on strike, resulting in the suspension of all types of services at the hospital.
They later agreed to resume work, halting the strike.
