Md Zakir Hossain appointed as new commissioner of Chattogram Customs House

Md Zakir Hossain has been appointed as the new commissioner of Chattogram Customs House (CCH), the leading revenue-generating entity in the country. 

He takes over this position following his tenure as Commissioner of Customs, Excise, and VAT Commissionerate in Rajshahi, a role he has held since November 2022.

The appointment was confirmed in a transfer and appointment notification issued on Tuesday (3 September) by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), as per a notification signed by Second Secretary Ahsan Ullah.

This notification also announced that Mohammad Faizur Rahman, the outgoing commissioner of Chattogram Customs House, will now serve as the Commissioner of Customs, Excise, and VAT Commissionerate in Dhaka (South).

The notification also included the transfers and postings of 15 commissioners across various customs departments in the country.
