Dewanbag Darbar Sharif attacked, vandalised in Narayanganj

A group of unidentified people looted and vandalised the Dewanbag Darbar Sharif at Madanpur of Bandar upazila in Narayanganj today (6 September). 

Four people were reportedly injured in the incident, according to locals.

Additional Superintendent of Narayanganj Police Chailau Marma said, “Some local villagers attacked the Dewanbag Darbar Sharif shortly after dawn. Later, police went there and brought the situation under control. 

“It will be investigated whether there is any conspiracy behind the incident. At present, the situation is calm.”

Bablu, a resident of Madanpur area, said, “The locals have been angry with Dewanbagi for a long time as he took over people’s land and built a darbar. The people of the area decided to destroy this darbar this morning.”
