The protest rally, held in front of the National Museum in Shahbagh, saw participants donning masks of the martyrs.

Students, civilians, and fathers of the deceased individuals who had participated in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement also were present.

Babul Sardar, father of Abdur Rahman Jisan who was killed by police gunfire in Jatrabari during the protests, said, “My son was merely serving water to the protesters, yet he was killed. He was the only brother of my two daughters. I am now in a financially precarious situation.”

Babul also questioned the escape of several important ministers from the Hasina government.

Arefin Mohammad, one of the organisers of the rally, said, “Those responsible for the massacre must be brought to justice. The families of the martyrs must be provided with social dignity and financial support. Those injured in the movement must be provided with state-funded medical treatment.”

He also announced an eight-point demand, including the identification of unidentified bodies through DNA profiling and the formation of a special task force to investigate the disappearances during the uprising.

The organisers also announced a 15-day public awareness campaign starting from tomorrow.
