AB Party leaders emphasise pro-people activities to thrive party
Leaders of Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party at its district and city representative conference here today laid emphasis on strengthening the party by taking pro-people activities for thriving the platform as a party of mass people.
The day-long conference took place at Major Haider Auditorium in Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital with the party’s convener AFM Solaiman Chowdhury in the chair, according to an AB Party Press release.
AB Party Joint Convener Major (retd) Prof Dr Abdul Wahab Minar, Member Secretary Mojibur Rahman Manju and Joint Member Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad spoke at the conference. Joint Member Secretary Barrister Jobair Ahmed Bhuiyan moderated the function.
Solaiman Chowdhury said that they have started politics for a new Bangladesh after ousting a fascist government in exchange for the blood of thousands of student-people.
Despite long-standing efforts, he said, the Election Commission of the former dictator didn’t give registration to AB Party. “We’ve got registration through court. Now, we have to make full preparations for the national and local government elections.”
Solaiman Chowdhury told the district and city leaders to turn the AB Party into a party of the mass people, laying out the necessity of expanding its footprint up to the union, ward and unit levels.
Abdul Wahab Minar said that the blood of thousands of martyrs has been shed to establish the rights of the people of Bangladesh.
“We can’t give any more opportunity to rob the rights of the people like in the past,” he said, urging AB party leaders to play an active role in this regard.
Mojibur Rahman Manju said that the country has yet to become completely stable, so, we have to keep vigilance on the entire situation, and we must strive to unite all people who are raising voices against fascism”.
Mentioning that district and city leaders are the main pillars of their party, he asked them to do pro-people activities instead of waiting for any instructions.
Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad said that the government has taken initiatives to reform by forming various commissions. “We’re trying to play a role in creating a new Bangladesh.”
AB Party Joint Conveners BM Nazmul Haque and Lt. Col (retd) Helal Uddin, Assistant Member Secretary Barrister Nasreen Sultana Mili, Gazipur Member Secretary M Amjad Khan, Dinajpur District Member Secretary Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury Palash, Comilla District Coordinator Mia Mohammad Taufiq, and Cox’s Bazar District Convener Enamul Haque Shikder, among others, also spoke.
