Govt sets new retail prices for eggs, chicken

The interim government has fixed the retail prices for per piece egg at Tk11.87, Sonali chicken at Tk269.64, and broiler chicken at Tk179.59. 

The Department of Agricultural Marketing with the consultation of Joint Working Group announced the prices in an order, signed by Director General of Department of Livestock Dr Mohammad Reajul Huq, today (15 September).

At the production level, the price of eggs has been set at Tk10.58, with a wholesale price of Tk11.01. 

Moreover, the price of Sonali chicken has been fixed at Tk260.78 in production level and Tk264.57 in wholesale level.

The price of broiler chicken in production level has been fixed at Tk168.91 while Tk172.61 in wholesale, it added.
