There will be no increase in the wealth of interim government advisers during their tenure, Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hasan said today (16 September).
“The Cabinet has created forms for us to submit asset statements. We will provide our asset statements. I promise that our wealth will not increase,” the adviser said at a discussion and doa mahfil programme on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi at the National Press Club in Dhaka this afternoon.
“I had a lot of sources of income before assuming this position. Now those are gone. But now it is the golden chapter of my life as I am serving the state,” Khalid added.
The adviser also stated that the interim government is working to create a level playing field for election by making economic and electoral reforms.
“We will give fair, free and impartial elections where every registered political party can participate. We will leave the power in the hands of those who will be elected,” he added.
