Pregnant woman dies of dengue in Chattogram

A 22-year-old pregnant woman has died of dengue in Chattogram, said Civil Surgeon’s Office on Tuesday (17 September) afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Umme Hani Akter.
Her husband, Md Jewel, said they were both admitted to the hospital last Thursday after being diagnosed with dengue.
They were receiving treatment in a cabin and on Saturday night. But Umme Hani’s condition suddenly deteriorated, and she was moved to the Intensive Care Unit where she passed away early Monday morning, he said.
Jewel added that their baby was expected to be born in mid-October. “But now, my wife and our unborn child have left us forever.”
According to the latest data from the Civil Surgeon’s Office, 37 people were admitted to hospitals with dengue in 24 hours as of Monday.
Since the beginning of this month, a total of 267 dengue patients have been hospitalised.
