Metro rail movement on the Agargaon to Motijheel route has been temporarily halted this morning (18 September) due to technical issues.
The train operations were temporarily suspended from 9:40am, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said on its verified Facebook page this morning.
The DMTCL said, however, trains were still running on the Uttara to Agargaon section.
“If the train movement along Agargaon-Motijheel is back to normal, it will be informed. Metro rail authorities sincerely apologise for the temporary inconvenience,” the company wrote.
Contacted, Nasir Uddin Ahmed, director (operation and maintenance) of the DMTCL, told TBS, “Due to issues in the viaduct between Farmgate and Bijoy Sarani, train movement from the Agargaon to Motijheel section has been temporarily suspended.
“The technical team is working to resolve the issue. How much time it will take to fix the issue cannot be said at the moment. However, train movement will be normalised as soon as possible.”
