A policeman was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Narayanganj last night (17 September).

The deceased, identified as Abu Bakr Siddique, 38, died after being run over by an unidentified car near the Mouchak area of the highway, Highway Police said.

He was an assistant deputy inspector of the Industrial Police’s Narayanganj unit. 

“He couldn’t be identified initially. We confirmed his identity this afternoon. No one has been detained over the incident. We are trying to identify the culprits,” Shimrail Highway Police Outpost Inspector Abu Nayem said today (18 September).

Abu Bakr is the son of Ashraf Ali of Danihari Dolpara area of ​​Kamalpur Union of Dinajpur Sadar.
