A fish-laden truck lost control and collided with Karnaphuli Shah Amanat Bridge roundabout in Chattogram left two people dead yesterday (23 September).
According to eye-witnesses, a truck-laden truck lost control and collided with a brick-laden truck, before crashing into a restaurant.
At least one person has been reported dead, and 12 others injured in the incident.
The rescue operation was ongoing at the last update, and the number of casualties may rise, according to the Fire Service.
Abdul Malek, assistant director of the Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence, informed The Business Standard that the accident occurred around 10:50pm on Monday.
Two units of the Fire Service arrived at the scene and recovered one body.
Additionally, 12 injured individuals were rescued and sent to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
Tofazzal Hossain, the officer on duty at the Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost, said 13 people had been brought to the hospital so far.
Among them, one was dead, while the remaining 12 were seriously injured.
