Biden expresses ‘full support’ to Bangladesh in meeting with Dr Yunus
US President Joe Biden today (24 September) expressed the US government’s full support for Bangladesh Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus and his government as they met on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Dr Yunus apprised him how the students rose against the tyranny of the previous government and gave their lives to create the opportunity to rebuild Bangladesh, reads a statement issued by the CA’s press wing.
As he stressed that his government must succeed in rebuilding the country and would need US cooperation, President Biden assured of his administration’s full support.
President Biden said if the students could do so much sacrifice for their country, they too should do more.
Dr Yunus handed a copy of the ‘The Art of Triumph’, a book on wall paintings drawn by students during the revolution, to President Biden during the meeting.
