Ex-MP Obaidul Muktadir sued under Explosives Act in Brahmanbaria

Former housing and public works minister RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury has been sued under the Explosives Act in Brahmanbaria.

“Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, a resident of Brahmanbaria’s Kazipara, filed the case with the Brahmanbaria Senior Judicial Magistrate Court today [25 September],” Kazi Didarul Alam, inspector of the court, told The Business Standard.

“The judge accepted the complaint and directed the Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station to register the case.

“The case named 240 individuals and 150 unidentified people as accused,” the inspector added.

According to the case statement, on 4 August, Obaidul Muktadir carried out petrol bomb and cocktail attacks on various establishments, including Bank Asia, the District Freedom Fighters’ Office, and Nandita Color Lab, causing an estimated loss of Tk5 crore.

The statement also mentioned that several individuals, including the plaintiff and witnesses, were injured in the incident.
