Road crash kills three people, injures 20 in Manikganj

Three people were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between a minibus and a truck on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Shibalaya upazila of Manikganj today morning (26 September).
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Borongail Highway Police Md. Ibrahim confirmed the incident.
According to the OC, a minibus carrying garment workers collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction around 6:30am. The front of the minibus was severely damaged, while the truck veered off the road into a nearby ditch. One person died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries after being taken to the hospital.
Upon receiving the news, local fire service personnel, highway police, and local residents rushed to the scene to assist in the rescue efforts.
The injured were transported to Shibalaya Upazila Health Complex and Manikganj District Hospital for treatment.
Shammi Akhter, a doctor on duty at the emergency department of Shibalaya Upazila Health Complex, confirmed that 20 people were given medical care.
