Khagrachari flooded for third time in two months

The lower areas of Khagrachari have been flooded for the third time in the last two months due to continuous rains. 

Besides, landslides occurred in different areas including Shalbon and Comilla Tila areas of the district town. However, there were no casualties.

Khagrachari Deputy Commissioner Md Sahiduzzaman said, “We are repeatedly requesting the people living at the foothills to move to shelters. A total of 99 shelters have been opened in the district for the flood-affected people. 

“Each upazila nirbahi officer has been instructed to provide them with clean water and food.”

Earlier, Khagrachari was hit by flood on 2 August this year. Before that, the lower areas were flooded on 2 July as well.
