Former chief whip ASM Feroz was arrested from the capital’s Banani tonight (23 August).
Obaidur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner of DMP’s media and public relations wing, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
However, it could not be immediately confirmed in which case he was arrested.
He is the latest Awami League leader to be arrested in the aftermath of the ouster of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Feroz was elected as a member of parliament from the Patuakhali-2 constituency as an AL candidate in 1991, 1996, 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2024.
He served in the 9th Jatiya Sangsad as a whip and was appointed as the chief whip in the 10th Jatiya Sangsad.
