Police seeks 10-day fresh remand for Dipu Moni

Police today (24 August) sought 10-day fresh remand for former social welfare minister Dipu Moni in a case filed over the killing of Suman Sikdar in the capital’s Badda during the recent student movement.
The remand hearing is scheduled to be held at Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim’s court this evening.
On 19 August, Dipu Moni was arrested from Baridhara in the capital in connection with the murder of grocery store owner Abu Sayeed in the capital’s Mohammadpur.
Police produced her in court the next day and sought a 10-day remand for proper investigation of the case.
After a hearing, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sultan Sohag Uddin placed her on a four-day remand.
