Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) went on a strike in protest against an assault in the operation theatre following the death of a student under treatment and vandalism in the emergency department during another incident.
Protesting doctors said they went on strike from 9am today (1 September) due to security concerns of the doctors.
They are yet to make a formal comment on the protest.
Meanwhile, according to a police officer at the DMCH outpost, medical services are not available in the entire hospital, including the emergency department.
Patients and their relatives have expressed their frustration.
