DMP seeks people’s help to recover illegal arms

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has urged all to provide information on recovering illegal firearms as a joint drive in this connection began from the early hours of Wednesday.
From 4 September, a joint operation has started to recover all types of illegal weapons, including firearms and ammunition, not deposited in the police station under the suspended license and all types of illegal weapons, including the police and other forces, said a DMP release this evening.
It said, “If you have any information about illegal weapons, please inform the police as the DMP is determined to rid the metropolis of illegal firearms.”
The DMP added: “If you have any information about illegal weapons, you can call the national emergency service 999 or inform the nearest police station . . . Your identity must be kept confidential.”
Besides, the release said information can be provided through the inbox of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Facebook page(https://www.facebook.com/dmpdhaka) or on the WhatsApp number ( 01320-037870, 01320-037871).
