A depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal, prompting authorities to issue local cautionary signal no-3 for the country’s maritime ports.
A source from the Meteorological Department shared the information with The Business Standard today (9 September).
The depression formed over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay. It may cross the Odisha coast of India by noon and is unlikely to impact Bangladesh significantly.
Still, maritime ports have been instructed to show signal no-3 as per protocol.
The Meteorological Department also forecasted light rain in various parts of the country on Monday.
However, significant rainfall is expected in different regions starting tomorrow (10 September).
