Ex DGFI DG Saiful sent into forced retirement

The army has sent former director general of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Md Saiful Alam into forced retirement.
The armed forces also removed its officer Lt Gen Mojibur Rahman from his position, according to a notice issued by them yesterday night (11 September).
Saiful received commission in the army as a cadet of the 14th BMA Long Course from Bangladesh Military Academy. He had played the role of an area commander for the 11th Infantry Division of Bogura Cantonment.
Saiful was appointed as the DG of DGFI on 24 February 2020.
Previously, the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) froze the bank accounts of Saiful Alam, his wife, and children on 3 September and asked all banks to send account-related information or documents such as account opening forms, KYC and transaction statements, etc. to BFIU within five working days.
