BNP has announced rallies at the Central Shaheed Minar on 14 September and another in front of their party office in Nayapaltan on 15 September as part of a series of events commemorating victims of political repression and marking the International Democracy Day.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the rallies at a briefing following a joint meeting with the party members held at its central office in Nayapaltan today (12 September).

The BNP leader said, “Rally at Shaheed Minar will be attended by the relatives of those who have been martyred, crippled, or tortured over the past 14 to 15 years. The event will feature various cultural activities, including music, poetry recitals, and performances.

“On 15 September, in observance of the International Democracy Day, another rally will be held in front of the party office,” he added.

At the meeting, Fakhrul alleged that a deliberate conspiracy is being carried out to destabilise the country’s factories, stating, “A group is working with a well-planned agenda to undermine the student and public uprising.

“Fascist Sheikh Hasina is spreading propaganda from India against Bangladesh and its people. These malicious campaigns will never be accepted.”
