The government has blocked more than 1,500 porn websites in the last one month, said Teleco and information adviser Nahid Islam.
Speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting this (12 September) noon, he said 1,667 porn sites had been blocked.
At the same time, 560 gambling websites were also shut down.
‘I have no sister’
On a question regarding the discussion on social media regarding his sister, Nahid Islam denied the issue.
“We are two brothers, I have no sister.”
He said, “When I was in the hospital, my family members were not with me. None of them could speak. Then she (one Fatema Tasnim) helped us. At that time, it was not possible to know what identity she gave to any media.
Moreover, she is associated with Gono Odhikar Parishad, he said.
