Additional DIG Moshiur Rahman arrested from airport

Additional Deputy Inspector General of police Moshiur Rahman was arrested from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport yesterday (19 September).

Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch Rabiul Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed the matter and said he is accused in eight murder cases. It has not yet been determined under which he will be shown arrested.

Moshiur Rahman, a former deputy commissioner of DMP Detective Branch’s Gulshan Division and Lalbagh division was accused of brutally torturing political opposition leaders and arrestees in custody.

“He was trying to flee the country through the airport on Thursday when he was detained from there,” said DB sources.
