Swechasebak Dal leader arrested over death of Juba Dal activist in Ctg

Police have arrested a Swechasebak Dal leader in connection with a case filed over the death of a Juba Dal activist in Chattogram’s Chandgaon area. 

Nizam Uddin, general secretary of Ward Swechasebak Dal, was arrested after a raid in the Chandgaon area yesterday (20 September), Chandgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aftab Uddin told The Business Standard.

According to police and locals, Juba Dal activist Jubair Uddin Babu, 26, was fatally injured during a clash between two factions of Juba Dal near the Chandgaon Ward Councilor’s office yesterday evening over control of a territory. Two others were also injured.

A case was filed over the incident against 40 people and 20-30 unidentified persons.

OC Aftab said an investigation is underway, and more arrests are expected as police are working to identify the remaining suspects.
