Refrain from lobbying for positions: Home adviser to newly appointed passport officers
The adviser stated that the harassment of individuals at the passport office must end to restore its reputation

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (23 September) called for dedication to national service with patriotism and sincerity, urging the newly appointed Assistant Directors of the Immigration and Passport Directorate to avoid any form of lobbying for positions.
“You all are talented. So, you have to use your talent and dedicate yourself to the service of the country,” he said while speaking at the orientation ceremony of 20 newly joined Assistant Director of Immigration and Passport Directorate in the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat in the capital this afternoon.
Mentioning that everyone has to submit the wealth statement, he asked the officials to stay away from bribery and corruption.
The adviser stated that the harassment of individuals at the passport office must end to restore its reputation.
He stressed the need for ensuring that people receive proper service, reminding them that they are officers of the Immigration and Passport Directorate under the Security Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“You must work with a service-oriented mindset,” he added.
Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury NDC, Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry’s Security Services Department, and Major General Nurul Anwar, Director General of the Immigration and Passport Directorate, were also present at the orientation ceremony.
