At least 40 people were injured in a clash over a trivial matter between two groups in Brahmanbaria today (24 September).
The clash took place intermittently between the residents of Baddapara and Uchaliapara areas of Sadar upazila from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak said law enforcers had brought the situation under control.
According to the police and eyewitnesses, the motorcycle of a person of Uchaliapara collided with the rickshaw van of another person of Baddapara. A scuffle broke out between the two and soon after a clash ensued between sides.
As the clashes took place on Sarail-Nasirnagar-Lakhai road, traffic movement on that road remained closed for several hours, causing sufferings to long-distance passengers.
The OC said legal action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
