Chattogram Custom House has seized a 20-foot container of liquor imported from abroad at Chattogram port.
The seizure occurred during a midnight operation conducted by the Customs Audit Investigation and Research (AIR) Unit last night (4 September).
Deputy Commissioner of the AIR Unit, Khairul Bashar, told TBS that the 20-foot container was intercepted based on secret information and risk management techniques.
The exact quantity of liquor is currently being inventoried.
Customs Commissioner Faizur Rahman is expected to provide more details, including the company involved and the country of origin of the alcohol, during a press briefing scheduled for 12pm today (5 September).
